Design stages
A stage takes over from an age (or PY) — every panel picks the design covering its year. Biology (infant / child / teenager / adult) is always computed from the age itself and can’t be overridden.

Uniform is inherited from the organization's canon — organizations are managed in Worldweave.

This is the design lock. These details are what the artist AI obeys in every panel — locked traits are permanent identity; story-progress traits change chapter to chapter.
Step 1 · Design anchor — the teenage sheet, age 16

Always drawn first, and always at 16 — even for a character who is a child in your story. It is the root every other sheet is derived from, not a picture of them at any point in the book: a teenage face already carries the adult bone structure, so it ages down to a child and up to an elder more reliably than either would from the other. This is the one sheet available at any time, whatever year your chapter is set in. Costs one generation.

Character reference sheet
+ No sheet yet — draw the teenage design anchor to unlock every other look.

Starting…

This becomes the character’s permanent look, so it is worth the wait.

AI drawing varies — redraw if this one isn’t right.

Free fixes — no generation used
Step 2 · Every other life stage

Each age derived from the anchor above, so they are provably the same person. Every sheet here shows them in the same plain base layer — this tab is the character’s design, and clothes are drawn from it in the Wardrobe. A panel is drawn against the sheet for the life stage it is set in — exactly that one, never a near miss — so a chapter set while a character is a child needs their child sheet before it can be drawn. The teenage slot below is filled by the anchor itself.

Worldweave

Connect your story to the shared Living World — anchor, lore, scenes, groups, cast.

World & technology level (whole story) Tells the artist what the roads, buildings, transport and clothing are made of.
Living World Anchor this story to the shared universe — canon, events and house style follow.

1 Your place in the worldLiving World

Choose where and when your story happens. The studio then shows you that world exactly as it is at that moment — its places, people, and history.Pin this story to a place and Peace Year. The engine shows the world as of that moment — canon, events, inventory, and the house style all follow the anchor.

2 Invent local flavorWeave the setting

The Loom generates grounded detail for your anchor — cuisine, customs, landmarks, local brands — that never contradicts established canon. You curate every element before it touches your story.

3 Story factsStory facts — curate & propose

Everything your story holds true lives here — ideas the Loom wove plus facts you add yourself. Keep what fits, discard what doesn't. Ticked ideas are also suggested to the shared world — small local color is accepted automatically; bigger claims wait for a human reviewer. One list for every story-local truth: Loom-generated elements and your own facts. Accepted entries join this story immediately (candidate canon — usable right away, and the Warden respects them). Entries marked propose go to the Narrorift Conclave: small local color auto-approves; bigger claims wait for a human Lorekeeper. Story-wide truths live here — a single scene’s guardrails belong in Scenes → Locked facts.

+ Add a fact yourself

Nothing woven yet — set an anchor and generate.

3 PlacesScenes

The places your story happens in. Each place remembers how it looks so your panels stay consistent.Environment bibles: each scene anchors continuity (mood, culture, visual bible, locked facts) across panels. World-linked projects inherit their place grounding from the story’s world anchor.

World-linked projects count in Peace Years (PY) — the anchor year in step 1 is the reference. 2DG Original projects can use any numbering.

DescriptionCulture, visual bible, locked facts

Art direction grounded in this scene's place

The more of these you fill, the less the artist has to invent — and the more this place looks the same in every panel.

Locked facts

Each fact can carry a PY window — blank years mean always true. These guard THIS scene; story-wide truths belong in Weave → Story facts.

4 Groups & uniformsOrganizations & uniforms

The groups in your story — police, guilds, schools. Each keeps one shared uniform so members match in every panel.Organizations are world elements: each belongs to a place and defines a uniform canon its members share. Anchored projects browse and adopt organizations that already exist in canon instead of re-inventing them.
